| ENJOYABLE HIKING AT Mt.TSURUGI (Tokushima Pref ) 17th April,2005 |
Mt.Tsurugi (1,955m
above sea level ) climbed on 17th April, 2005 (Sunday) Mt.Tsurugi location : Tokushima Prefecture ,Tsurugi Mountainous District The second-highest mountain in West-side of Japan  Tour members Mr.park & constructing team of "Pos Eternity" Received e-mail from Mr.Okuda Biz.sec. of Tsuneishi Shipyard,Tadotsu one week ago and asked to join thier hiking tour with superintendent engineer Mr.Park. Why not ! The tour (Mr.Park,Mr.Tanaka, Mr.Okuda,Mr.Sugita,Mr.Mori & myself total 6 male no female) started 0800h on 17th April,2005 from Tadotsu Dockhouse for Mt.Tsurugi via Santo-Tunnel/Sadamitsu/Route438   Tsurugi "Easy" Climbing lift enjoyable nice view sit on the lift Available Lift from Minokoshi station to nishijima station, it takes about 15 minutes, 830m distance, lift up from 1,420m to 1,750m above sea level (saving hight abt 330m ) Therefore this mountain is always clouded by aged persons and children.  Mt.Marusasa and Skeleton tree Soon after start climbing from Nishijima lift station, we can see so beautifull scenery in back side. Mr.Marusasa (Sasa means bamboo grass ) Sky is shining in blue and feel so fresh breeze  Members with Mt.Marusasa for background   remained some snow at nothern slope Kid refused to move anymore We looked over the top and found some snow at north side slope ,also on the route. About 20 minutes walk, we reached "Katana-Kake pine tree" ( Tradition says that Emperor "Antoku" put his sword beside of pine tree as sword rack ) lovely small girl fretted near-by and her parents were greatly perplexed.  Remained snow on the Climbing Route   Ladies climber seems powerful & bright Walked up about half distance !   Snow path Here we are almost top of the mountain From upper lift station to the summit, it takes only 40 - 50 minutes. Some snow remained on the way but no problem for walk at all. Conversely we feel so hot. Ladies climber group overtaking, they are so powerful and bright.   view stage of Tsurugi Summit Lodge Last passege to top of Mt.Tsurugi   Mt.Tsurugi Wooden step Summit wooden board In order to protect bamboo grass (Miyama Kumazasa) and various flowers from thousands of visitors,Wooden passage were fitted over the top of Mt.Tsurugi. In old time, the remnants of defeated troops "Heike warriors" m ade horse training at this wide and gently-sloping area. We proceeded to the west edge of this summit, splendid landscape was came out ! The remaining snow made several fantastic line on thr plait of dignified shape. It's name Mt Jirohgyu (1,929m )  Mr.Mori Mr.Tanaka Mr.Sugita(back) Mr.park Mr.Okuda Background = Jirohgyu (west side of Tsurugi mountain )   HP friend Mr.S.M. good smile Met Korean family at Mt.Tsurugi Summit hill was crowded by the visitors/climbers.We took rest and lunch at the west end of Mt.Tsurugi. So, one old mountain climber appeared with rubber boots style and with nice smile. After talk with the maountains of Shikoku,we found as acquainted HP owner each other. Mr.park also found Korean family at the summit of Mt.Tsurugi  Western side of Tsurugi traverse route Maruishi-Konose-Shiraga-Sanrei   Oh ! Deerskin cushion I am mountain climbing dog After enjoy conversation with Mr.S.M., Korean family, Mountain climber, child, dog ,Mountain god, We left the top and proceeded to western path (Just Mt.Jirohgyu direction ) Down slope of west side, there are so much limestones which make so nice view and we feel most beautiful landscape at Mt.Tsurugi   Mr.park and Mr.Okuda Big skeleton tree in down slope  Linestone , Skeleton tree, and background Mt.Sanrei We walk down carefully because west side path is steep slope and so much stones. we sometime stop and look over the fantastic landscape Mt.Jirohgyu and crest line of the mountain up to Mt.Sanrei. Also we enjoyed collour combination of Lime stones =White, Sky =Blue, Banboo grass =yellow ,Tree= green   just like a Japanese garden carefully walk down  Remaining snow in April most beautiful landscape of Mt.Tsurugi  Crossroad to "Ohtsurugi Iwa"(return path) and "Mt.Jirohgyu" It takes abt 20 minuts between top of Mt.Tsurugi and crosspoint. I want to walk till Mt.Jirohgyu but Mr.Mori looks little bit tired also we have to visit Hot Spring on the way back to the shipyard. So we turn to right and bound for "Ohtsurugi-Shrine" direction. The passege is narrow but religious atmosphere pervaded this area.   Good-bye Mt.Jirohgyu West traverse path  Ohtsurugi Iwa Big Sword Rock  Ohtsurugi Iwa Object of Worship   Ohtsurugi-Iwa background Mt.Marusasa (1,711.6m) On the way to "Nishijima Lift Station" we can see so big Linestone piller on the mountain side. So called "Ohtsurugi-Iwa" which is a Object of Worship for Ohtsurugi Shrine. At the valley side, there are many Mayumi Tree and it is so beautifull at the season of pink colour ripen. We enjoyed snow again at the north side path and landscape of Mt.Tohnomaru.   North slope remaining snow Mt.Tohnomaru (1,713m)   Koinobori (Carp Streamer ) Clean River After down to the Minokoshi lift station, we took same route back to Tadotsu. On the way back,we stopped and look many "Carp Streamer"(Koinobori) on the river. According to Mr.Park there is no Carp Streamer in Korea. Thenafter we visit Mikado Hot Spring and wash out sweat and fatigue. We are all satisfied with climbing of Mt.Tsurugi and nature of Tokushima Mountainous District Tsuneishi Shipyard Tanaka san,Okuda san,Sugita san,Mori san & Mr.Park, thanks lot   |
